Find your way back
to connection

Support for couples who feel stuck in painful patterns, and individuals who want more peace, confidence, and clarity.

Welcome

Starting therapy can feel like a big step. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, you may want support but still have doubts. Therapy is a collaborative process, and you do not have to have it all figured out before you begin. Whether you are coming in on your own or with your partner you can discuss any questions, share what you are hoping to achieve and take the first steps with “real kind” support.

You are not expected to be fully ready, just willing to begin.

Ways I can support you

Couples Therapy

When conflict feels constant, or distance has quietly grown, couples therapy can help you reconnect. We will identify the patterns that keep you stuck and get underneath them to the emotions and needs that are harder to say out loud. The goal is not to blame. It is to achieve emotional safety, clearer communication, and a relationship that feels secure, supportive and romantic again.

Ways I can support you

Individual Therapy

If anxiety, overwhelm, burnout, or life transitions have been impacting you, individual therapy offers a supportive place to breathe and regroup. Together we will understand what is driving the stress, strengthen coping tools, and help you build a steadier relationship with yourself. Over time, many clients report feeling more grounded, clear, and confident in how they move through the world.

My approach

My work is rooted in attachment-based therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). At the heart of this approach is a simple idea: secure human connection helps us feel safe, supported, and more like ourselves. In therapy we will look at patterns, especially the ones that lead to unhealthy coping behaviors or relationship distance and conflict. With more clarity and understanding, we will find and practice new ways of coping with stress and reaching for connection and support. The goal is a stronger sense of self and trust in others so you can move through life with more peace and resilience.

What therapy can help you move toward

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy can help you move out of painful cycles and back into emotional closeness and trust. Together we’ll slow down conflict, understand what’s happening underneath it, and practice new ways of communicating with more openness and care. Over time, many couples feel more connected, more secure, and better able to repair after hard moments.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy can help you feel more confident in your decisions, quiet the harsh inner voice, and handle stress with more steadiness. Together we’ll work on practical ways to manage overwhelm, set healthier boundaries, and reconnect with a grounded sense of self. Over time, many clients feel clearer, more resilient, and more at ease in daily life.

Carol Dawidowicz, LMFT, therapist in San Diego offering couples and individual therapy at Real Kind Therapy.

Meet Carol

Hi, I’m Carol. I’m a therapist with 15 years of experience, and I specialize in helping couples rebuild connection using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), an evidence-based approach grounded in attachment science. I do not see either partner as the problem. The disconnection is the problem, and we work together to repair it.

I also help individuals who are struggling with stress or feeling stuck, dealing with painful emotions or difficulties in relationships.

My style is warm, steady, and collaborative, with space for both real emotion and real change.

A note I often come back to:

“Emotional connection among human beings is like oxygen.”
